Npixel и Aptos decided to take advantage of the Gran Saga hype and try to transfer the game to the blockchain and implement NFT. Recall Aptos и Npixel entered into a partnership back in November 2022 with the goal of working together on Web3 games in the new 2023. Then Aptos and announced its plans to develop and improve Web3.
Npixel is a game development company founded in September 2017 with the goal of building a gaming ecosystem based on DAO. The company was formed by a group of developers who worked on Seven Knights, a popular mobile game from Netmarble.
Gran Saga: Unlimited will be the first game from the Metaverse ecosystem of Metapixel from Npixelusing blockchain technology. It will be a slightly different game compared to the original Web2 game, Gran Saga. At least the developers promised to make the gameplay closer to the classic style MMORPG.
Players will be able to earn in-game assets and release in-game items in the form of NFTs, which they can freely trade on NFT marketplaces on the network Aptos. The game is planned to be released on PC first, and later it will be possible to access it via smartphones.
The test is Gran Saga: Unlimited launches in Q1 2023, with a global release scheduled for Q2. Alpha testers will be recruited via Discord, which is expected to launch soon.
