SOUTH KOREA CITY GIVEAWAYS NFT CITIZENSHIP IN THE METOVIVE

Last update:

Back in May 2022, the South Korean authorities began to show interest in the metaverse, as the South Korean Ministry of Science and NIPA (National Information and Communications Promotion Agency) offered financial support to companies that create content for the metaverse, as well as encouraging the creators of NFTs. The authorities then launched a tender, which selected four companies for financial assistance. We have already written about this before.

Seongnam in the Metaverse

The local government of South Korea's 12th most populous city, Seongnam, recently announced the creation of a metaverse, and now it's about NFT citizenship. A dedicated meta-city is planned to launch in the first half of 2023. According to local reports, the government will be issuing virtual citizenship for a metaverse city. NFT citizenship will provide not only access to the meta-city, but also municipal information about the citizen.

The construction of the city will begin next month, and the first results are expected to be in April 2023. After the results are reviewed, the metaverse will open its doors in May or June 2023.

The local government has high hopes that this project will appeal to people of different generations and will attract users from their hometown. At the same time, the South Korean authorities blocked Play-to-Earn projects at the time.
