Supercell invests in Moonfrost game

Last update:

Supercell supported a project in the NFT space for the first time by investing in a farming RPG game Moonfrost. Oxalis Games managed to raise $4,5 million in the seed round.

Oxalis Games was founded by a former co-founder Bossa Studios and The Secret Police, Rick Moore and Gina Nelson, art director. The duo founded the studio in August 2020, after submitting a licensed game that didn't work. The team decided they could develop a crypto game that was far superior to the games available at the time.

For the last half of the year Oxalis Games hired about 15 people with experience in industry leading studios, including Epic, Mediatonic, Unity, Natural MotionSumo Ubisoft and others. Work on Moonfrost only started at the beginning of this year, but Rick Moore says that we can expect the release of version 1.0 by the end of 2023, which is more like the truth.

Other notable companies and individuals also participated in the funding round: Animoca Brands, Griffin Gaming Partners, sweet farm, CEO and developer Phil Mansell (Runescape), co-founder Sir Ian Livingston (Games Workshop & fighting fantasy), co-founder Daniel Engelhardt (Famico Studios), Charles Songhurst, CEO Christian Manea (Aggero) and CEO Juha Paananen (Soba Studios).

Moonfrost is an MMO RPG 2D simulator for mobile devices and PC, which will be on the Solana blockchain. Events in the game immerse in a fabulous farm life, where users can not only get to know the characters, but also find love, find ancient relics and go on an adventure with friends. Well, or just have a cup of coffee in good company.

The developers mentioned that in order to provide players with the best possible experience and great gameplay, the game was purely PvE based with lots of different content and nice story development.
