The creators of the Star Atlas trailer tried so hard that during the viewing it seemed that not a game was expected, but some kind of mega blockbuster. Bravo! It turned out cinematically. For Star Atlas, you don't have to blush and justify the low quality of the picture in front of ordinary gamers who are not in the subject of blockchain.

Land in Star atlas allow you not only to farm or build barracks on them. Basically, the lands in Star Atlas are needed to build your empire.
Each planet is divided into parcels of land, and each parcel is represented as an NFT on the Solana blockchain, which records the characteristics of each parcel (size, boundaries, location, current ownership, and more).
There are several land features that will make this game more realistic:
- the land is owned and also may be lost;
- Star Atlas uses an innovative land value tax (LVT) to prevent “flipping” (buying up early and then selling an asset on a listing or release) and to encourage users to use their land;
- Players can sell land, buy land, collect taxes, or use it as collateral for loans;
- land plots can be purchased in primary markets through auction or in secondary markets where landowners can sell their land in exchange for $ ATLAS.
Still, one of the best uses for earth in Star Atlas is to build an extractor to extract raw materials. As elsewhere on Earth, there is an upfront cost, fixed maintenance costs, and electricity needs provided by energy-producing buildings. On the positive side, however, the extractor will also generate income in the form of raw materials and additional fuel to transport cargo into space. Both taxes and fuel are paid for using $ ATLAS, the currency of the metaverse.
Politics, DAO and voting
As you build your manufacturing empire, expect political strife both within the Star Atlas and within your regional DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization). To help deal with this, Star Atlas introduced a mechanism by which landowners can vote in their regional DAO to help better manage their region on the map. For example, landowners in a particular region may put forward a DAO proposal to adjust taxation for certain activities. Voting will be done by placing POLIS, the game control token.
Regional (low-level) DAOs can vote to change, add or cancel policies - military, internal security, external relations - as well as adjust the budget according to the needs of the region. Ownership of land is a requirement for voting, and each regional DAO vote will affect your relationships with other regions, either by making it easier, for example, by importing cheaper materials from builders, or by making it harder by voting for a high import tax. It all depends on you.
And so that players do not get bored while waiting for the release and do not forget about the project, the developers decided to release mini-games. The first level of the minigame launched on October 5th and includes everything you need to prepare for future releases. You can set a profile, develop a strategy, look around, you can choose a faction from the list.
