Two partnerships of the month | Square Enix x Elixir and Krafton x Naver Z

Last update:

SQUARE ENIX and ELIXIR

Web3-distribution platform (launcher) for computer games Elixir Games, announced a strategic partnership with renowned game publisher Square Enix.

You may remember that last December, Square Enix teamed up with Sino Global Capital to co-lead Elixir's seed round. The Japanese giant is no stranger to blockchain games and recently launched its first Web3 project Symbiogenesis.

Elixir was launched back in 2021 and has already become quite famous in its niche. The platform has both web2 and web3 games. Compared to Ultra, they look rather modest, but it is clear that they are developing.

On the platform, users can link their Epic Game Store and GOG accounts, accessing multiple marketplaces from a single client.

While Square Enix has yet to reveal all the details on exactly how they will partner with Elixir, it's clear that there's a lot of interesting things ahead. Elixir CEO Carlos Roldan is delighted with the partnership, stating: “This collaboration brings us closer to mainstream adoption of web3 games. Our team is incredibly excited to put our technology into practice."

Roldan is already looking to the future, predicting that Elixir users will play web2 and web3 games seamlessly without noticing the difference. In 2023, many major players in the industry have joined the web3 games movement, and Roldan expects this trend to continue.

He made it clear that Elixir is focused on growth: "We've made every effort to be ready to scale."
