Only1 new Web3 social network from Solana

Last update:

Modern social networks make good money on creators, but treat them inappropriately. The rules are constantly changing, from random algorithm changes to account lockouts overnight, instantly shutting down sources of income.

It is for these reasons that NFTs have grown so rapidly. Authors and creators can earn more and at fair market prices, and the decentralized nature of the blockchain means that artists are not constrained by the rules of centralized social networks.

Unfortunately, the current NFT trends may not suit everyone, especially individuals who produce content such as long videos, audios or clips. Where should the author of such content go? Where is the lower entry threshold, freedom and flexibility of the blockchain?

only1 is the first social network Solana, combine .... STOP! STOP! STOP!!! Leave this advertising nonsense for someone else. Let's turn to history.

NOT SO FAR 🙂 ENOUGH TO WIND 2-3 YEARS!

VOICE! Golos? No Voice

Who understood the reference, congratulations, I will explain below.

We have already seen this somewhere. Oh yes. “The Voice Show” hosted by Dan Larimer under the direction of Brendan Bloomer (CEO Block.one). The 1-in-1 design and idea is reminiscent of Voice based on Block.one's eosio protocol. (Who else remembers this). And Voice, in turn, took the concept of Steemit, which had a Russian-language analogue of Golos, but with a slightly more beautiful interface.

Now Block.one is suing the community, which literally rebelled against the creators of EOS company B1 for empty and unfulfilled promises.

It is noteworthy that the presentation of this social network, which was expected to be the first most massive dapp to exceed 1 million DAU (Daily Active and unique Users), became the nail in the coffin of the eos blockchain. After her, he began to roll even more. Instead of promises to improve the protocol, we saw some kind of social network, but imagine the time when there were not so many users in dApps and NFTs were not popular as they are now. Given the deteriorating situation of Solana, I really really want to draw a parallel 🙂

It may feel like history is repeating itself. Solana and EOS are similar in many ways: In terms of marketing scale, development path. The same actively seized their market share and have had its fan base, controversy among developers, accusations of centralization, etc. Another "ether killer" as they said before. And now Solana begins to repeat the path of EOS, which practically (there is a chance of resurrection) led them to the grave of blockchains... Even the design is incredibly similar (especially the color schemes). The only thing I note is that Voice changed the interface on the site.

But in fairness, it’s worth saying that EOS had much more problems than Solana, and the market conditions were much worse than now, and even with fundamental problems in the current market, you can earn something. Moreover, the web3 social network is becoming relevant due to the formation of demand from Meta. Mark and the rest of the metaverses gave a good boost.

See what Meta is doing with Facebook.

NFTs.

Yes, he makes an NFT platform right on the social network. Quite logical and nothing surprising. The same will happen on Instagram, apparently, and in other social networks that are transforming into metaverses or will be connected to them. What for? Democratization of user-generated content and increase in micro-transactions with increasing Retention so that EVERYONE can create their own collections and sell NFTs with an existing user base and spend more time on these social networks, rather than trying to aggregate the target audience through Twitter. To make it available not only for some micro-commands: Artists + SMM + CM. The idea is good overall. Even under Larimer, it was understood that the problem of bots was deadly and social networks combined with NFTs could have huge potential, but there was no decent implementation, given that Block.one was going to drive the audience in Voice through mandatory KYC. Then it was unthinkable. And now? Now times have changed. You won’t surprise anyone in crypto with KYC, and the probability of success from such an undertaking increases… So Larimer just overtook the time again? These are all rhetorical questions...

Back to OnlyHappy fans1

On the only1 fans will be able to share in the success of their idols/authors by becoming their superfans. Superfan NFT holders will be able to share rewards from the creator (author) staking pool with the creators themselves. But you don't have to be a Superfan NFT holder to help your idol financially, you can stake in your pools or leave a tip.

To support creators, only1 will help with every step of the process, from creating NFTs for gated communities to selling original content. Creators (authors) can focus on creating quality content, and fans can communicate with them through messages and share their impressions.

The project is being developed with curly support AlamedaResearch, Solana Foundation и Animoca Brands Social Network only1 already connected some creators during the beta launch. Among them are musician Hanjin Tan, music producer and DJ Dirty Audio, social video creator Sarah Snow. (Who are these people? If you know, write in our chat, links below)

NFT Memberpass from only1 will be ready in July. Other features, including live streaming and a mobile app, will be ready in the coming months.
