FIRST LOOK AT OXYA ORIGIN AND LAND MINT ANNOUNCEMENT

On October 9, 2022, a mint of lands will take place in Oxya Origin, there is a chance to get into the whitelist.

Oxya Origin is an MMORPG set in a dystopian future where factions will have to fight against each other for the important resource OXYA. An open world game with guilds, battle royale, PvE and PvP modes built on Immutable X.

The partners include Ubisoft, but so far such a partnership looks far-fetched rather. The degree of participation and role in the project is not yet clear.

HEROES OF MAVIA UPDATES AND CHANGES

It looks like the work on Heroes of Mavia requires more effort and time than was planned in the roadmap. The beta release and the global launch have been postponed. As a gesture of goodwill, the developers offered the Land Staking mechanism to the community so that they would not drain the land and earn some tokens.

In addition, many other changes were added to the roadmap: the fight against cheaters, skins for heroes, units and buildings.

IS POS'S ETHEREUM A SECURITY?

My good friend, a web3 lawyer and partner in one of the projects, Inal Tomaev, wrote an opinion article for Wu Blockchain. Is POS's Ethereum a security? (Is Ethereum on PoS a security?).

FIRST GO

Congratulations to Blankos Block Party on the start of Season 1 and the launch of the first crypto game on the Epic Games Store! They launched even earlier than Grit from Gala Games, although they boasted that they would be the first epics to appear.

We recommend game developers to deconstruct the project and follow this case from the point of view of game design of crypto games, weaving fashion brands and street culture into gaming, technical solutions and Go-to-Market strategy.

Undoubtedly, an exact hit in the audience of collectors and gamers and a filigree presentation of the crypto narrative. It is worth noting that it was not without jambs (especially the NFT supply for the existing player base). In general, the project has been going very hard since the 18th, but it seems that investments of more than $250 million are still “deciding”.

We have a candidate for the hit that we warned about back in 2018 along with The Sandbox and Axie Infinity, but the timing is not the best.

It is especially interesting to look at the results in the bear market and in the bull market and the share of crypto players and classic players, as well as feedback from these archetypes of gamers.

ISTAMBUL BLOCKCHAIN WEEK NOVEMBER 14-17

5. South Korea's second largest city moves to blockchain

In the 1970s, Busan became the main port of the country. Now 3.5 million people live there and the city plans to become the most crypto-friendly place on the planet.
Work began back in 2019 by opening a special zone for blockchain companies — they tried to create conditions in the city for the legalization of crypto-business, which could not be legalized anywhere else.
In 2020, residents were presented with blockchain passports, a crypto wallet, and a system of order control.
Now almost half of the 465 blockchain companies in South Korea are registered in Busan.

The other day, the city administration entered into an agreement with the three largest global crypto exchanges: Binance, FTX and Huobi.
The mayor of the city states that his goal is to create the largest crypto hub in the world. Busan wants to attract blockchain specialists from all over the world and has already passed a law and tax incentives for this.
The city plans to create a unified crypto-exchange and an infrastructure of convenient crypto-payments for any business.

Binance and FTX promised to help build the system, and Huobi has already relocated 1500 employees to the city.
They promise to tell more details about the project at the Busan Blockchain Week 2022 conference, which will begin on October 27.

South Korea is becoming one of the world leaders in all aspects of blockchain culture. The country has already invested $billions in the construction of the metaverse and is actively creating a legal framework for it.
If Busan manages to complete such a large-scale project, the region will become the second most adopted crypto in the world after the Swiss canton of Zug.

6. Businessman burned a $10 million Frida Kahlo painting to draw attention to an NFT auction

Recently, US entrepreneur Martin Mobarak put up for sale an NFT with reproductions of Frida Kahlo's painting Fantasmones Siniestros.
Collectors were not interested in the tokens and Martin decided to draw attention to the auction by destroying the original painting.

To burn the painting, the businessman arranged a party, which culminated in the destruction of the masterpiece. The businessman took a small picture out of the frame, lowered it into a martini glass and set it on fire.
“I hope that all those present will be able to understand this gesture and see something positive in it,” said the author of the performance.

Now the original work worth $10 million is lost forever. In return, the entrepreneur offered to buy one of 10 NFT copies.
The businessman promises to give the proceeds to the Academy of Fine Arts in Mexico City, the Frida Kahlo House Museum in Coyoacan, and several charitable foundations that help sick children.

7. The UAE decided to measure the country's success by the "gross product of the metaverse" instead of GDP.

A country's economic success will now be measured by metaverse success (GMP) instead of gross domestic product (GDP), the UAE Minister of Artificial Intelligence said. The proposal was approved by the crown prince of the country.

During a speech titled "Unleashing Dubai's Potential: Metaverse Strategy", the Minister said that the main sectors of the economy in which the Metaverse strategy will be deployed will be tourism, education, public services, retail and real estate.
