1. Balmain launches an NFT project for fashion lovers

The French luxury fashion house Balmain, in collaboration with the MINTNFT platform, is launching an NFT project for the owners of the brand's items.

Any Balmain client will be able to join the brand's crypto community. Perks can include early access to new collection drops, exclusive access to unique physical and digital items, and invitations to brand events such as the Balmain Festival at Paris Fashion Week in September.

Balmain creative director Olivier Rousteing intends to combine NFT technology, augmented and virtual reality (AR / VR) and physical space. For the planned digital events, the company is negotiating with 4 metaverses.

For example, the dress and corset are first created digitally only, they can be worn in the metaverse, and only then the physical versions of the outfits are sent to their owners by mail along with an exclusive invitation to the private Balmain party in Paris.

Many fashion titans are integrating blockchain technology into their businesses: Dolce & Gabbana's digital collection, Gucci's project planning at The Sandbox, Louis Vuitton bags' NFT chips - the list goes on.

2. The UAE proposed to criminalize "murder" in the metaverse

UAE Artificial Intelligence Minister Omar Sultan Al Olama has called for criminalization of "serious crimes" in the metaverse. Writes about it CNBC.

According to him, the realistic nature of any metaverse would allow people to be "terrorized" in ways that are not currently possible.

“If I send you a WhatsApp message, it may terrorize you, but it is unlikely to lead to PTSD,” al-Olamah said.

He added that "killing" an avatar in a realistic virtual environment could lead to aggressive retaliation.

Al-Olamah called on the International Telecommunication Union to discuss setting international security standards for the metaverse that people must adhere to regardless of jurisdiction. As an example, he cited general Internet standards that prevent drug trafficking and child pornography.

3.Robot released his own collection of NFTs

Humanoid robot "Sofia" presented its own NFT collection Baby Singularities. The robot also announced the Sophia's Age of Singularities (SAOS) metaverse, which will be used to train artificial intelligence.
The Metaverse begins with a market based on non-fungible tokens. As a result, they will become a full-fledged environment and allow the integration of games into the metaverse. The proceeds from this activity will go to the development of artificial intelligence "Sofia".
Last March, Sophia "sold" an NFT token tied to her drawing for $688,8.

This is the first time in history that an AI humanoid robot has raised money by selling a non-fungible token. Sofia created her drawing based on the work of Italian digital artist Andrea Bonacheto.

4. GTA Publisher: NFTs and Metaverses Will Kill Many Companies

The preoccupation with the metaverse, NFTs and blockchain could end badly for many companies that are trying to refocus their business in this direction as much as possible. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick had this to say:
“I am always skeptical about fashion words because they mean different things to different people. People who invest in these buzzwords are sure to be dissatisfied with the results.”
According to Zelnik, many simply do not understand the meaning of all these words. How are metaverses fundamentally different from the interactive and living worlds of the same GTA Online or Red Dead Online? Yes, in general, nothing, but many companies invest in something like this simply because of new buzzwords.
At the same time, the creation of metaverses on the blockchain with the sale of NFTs from newcomers that have not even existed on the market for even two years seems suspicious to Zelnik at least.

The head of Take-Two does not expect the metaverse as such to disappear or fail, but notes that many are mindlessly trying to jump into the hype without at least a partial understanding of what is happening.
He compares what is happening now with the boom of the Internet in the late 90s, when companies like Google and Amazon appeared, but many people forget that so many companies failed then. At the same time, much less investment was required before.

Disputes around the prospects of the metaverse industry will continue for many years, but we believe that it is pointless to argue, since this is a new format of social networks with higher immersiveness.

5. The first DAO wedding will be held in Bali

On June 19, the first of its kind marriage will take place, fixed on the blockchain in the form of a DAO. By joining it, you become a member of the community that supports the projects of 2 partners - Anna and Vadim. The event is being organized with the support of the designer of decentralized autonomous organizations - XDAO (from Russian developers, by the way).

Wedding tickets can be purchased in the form of NFT on the OpenSea marketplace for 0,1 ETH ($184), all money will be directed to the organization of the event. In addition to a pass to a private event where the couple wants to gather representatives of the crypto community, the buyer gets access to the waitlist of the next family DAO projects.
As planned, the new digital community will both contribute to the reconciliation of the couple, and learn from their experience in new ways to interact with their partners.

Anna says that the husband invests in her, as in the “MVP-wife”, in order to formulate for himself a more accurate understanding of what kind of person he is ready to overcome the difficulties of life with. In exchange, the new wife promises to help generate new ideas and hypotheses for the further development of her husband's projects.

This case shows a new approach to the formation of a family circle and participation in the creation of anything (projects, events, etc.). In the future, we will definitely see more often how blockchain is being introduced into standard areas of our lives. Read more about the project here.

6.Art On Internet is a crypto-movement of art connoisseurs

AOI is an art movement with the mission of developing art and technology. The creators are committed to making NFT accessible to a global audience by collaborating with artists and brands. Art On Internet come up with a number of initiatives aimed at popularizing NFT art: a digital museum, NFT drops, exhibitions in the metaverse, a documentary series, etc.

AOI Museum is powered by Unreal Engine 5. An immersive space with a serene atmosphere blends past and future, nature and architecture, interior and landscape. It is a place of attraction for supporters of the AOI movement. Login is available from any browser. There are now 274 NFT expositions in the museum fund.

Recent drops include the Jack Fried collection. "Night Vision". These are 1440 animated meditation tokens.

We liked this project for its philosophical component: anyone can delve into the topic of crypto art, visit a very realistic and stylish virtual museum. Unlike other projects of digital galleries and NFT studios, Art On Internet has an extremely simple interface, there is no need to fiddle with crypto wallets to see anything.

7.NFT can now be left as a legacy

An Israeli company has created a new mechanism that allows owners to bequeath their NFTs. This will guarantee the transfer of assets to loved ones in the event of an unexpected death.
According to information on the startup website Kirobo, you can bequeath your crypto inheritance to up to eight recipients. To do this, you just need to have a Liquid Vault crypto wallet with a small amount of KIRO cryptocurrency.
The developers note that in the 13 years since the appearance of crypto assets, the problem of their inheritance has arisen. And as the popularity of this kind of property grows, this issue becomes more and more relevant.

The technology of "crypto inheritance" is based on a smart contract. It includes all the necessary information: crypto wallets of the heirs, the amount of assets that each of them will receive, and a timer that can be reset periodically for a small fee.
On the appointed day, the last will of the testator is executed automatically, and the assets will be sent to the specified addresses. Recipients will receive a notification and will be required to enter a password in order to collect the inheritance. Thus, there is no need for the services of notaries or any government agencies.

The beta version of the Liquid Vault wallet was launched at the end of 2021. Then he supported Ethereum and ERC-20 tokens.
Although the principle of decentralization does not imply access to cryptocurrency by anyone other than its immediate owner, the question of what to do with it after the death of the holder is quite acute. According to the data The Wall Street Journal, about one-fifth of all mined bitcoins is considered lost forever - some of them belonged to dead people.
