Gadget-Bot is working on a sci-fi universe kaidro for over a decade, and now they're bringing it to Web3 using their visual storytelling expertise from webcomics and games. The launch is planned for this year on the Ethereum blockchain using Immutable X. Exact date: TBA.

It is worth adding that, the development of the Kaidro game was not without problems.

"At this point, we've remade the game several times," Simons said, citing a desire to focus primarily on player entertainment.

It is still unclear if Kaidro will be launched in Immutable X or on the newly announced network Immutable zkEVM, but the game will live in the Immutable gaming ecosystem.

Action kaidro takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where a mech-wielding faction battles powerful mages.

The game will have modes:

  • PvP
  • PvE;
  • Quests;
  • 3v3.

Simons and Chang see Web3 as the natural next step for their large community. And the duo are more than just creative producers and visual storytellers - they're also TikTok stars with over 1,3 million followers across three channels.

They previously used Kickstarter to fund the development of Kaidro and raised about $10k to release a series of physical graphic novels based on the original comics webtoons , which have amassed over 1,6 million views with a 9,6 star rating.

“When we first encountered Web3, we saw it as a way to take ownership of our fan base and allow players to be a part of it,” Simons said. “We looked at things like NFTs and things like that as a way for people to actually own part of the Kaidro world and own it forever.”

“We don't want to be limited to how we can expand this world,” Chung added about the Gadget-Bot strategy for Kaidro, sharing that the interactive world will expand beyond the comic book series' protagonist Ava. Also in development is an animated series co-created with Tim Headrick (Avatar: The Elementalist).

Cloned NFTs and Battle Passes

In Kaidro, which will first launch on PC and later on mobile devices, each NFT will give its owner a playable character from a specific clan, with which to control a mech, guardian spirit or pilot.

Each NFT will offer storylines unique to that character, and players will also be able to unlock items specific to that character. 

Kaidro NFT holders will also be able to do cloning.

“We wanted to give the market to NFT holders,” Simons said. “They can clone their NFTs up to a certain amount and sell them back to players who are not necessarily immediately interested in NFTs, but might like the skins. This allows players to purchase these skins and help score points for designated NFT holders."

The game will also offer a free game for players who want to try out Kaidro before purchasing NFTs. And like most PVP games, Kaidro will have "seasons" of content, meaning each year is broken into themed durations centered on different stories.

In Kaidro, one faction will "win" at the end of each season, and this will affect the course of the next one. Kaidro will also be offering Seasonal, Personalized (non-tradable) Battle Passes as NFTs for players looking to earn extra loot and other rewards.

3. Participate in tournaments and competitions

Kaidro also offers participation in various tournaments and competitions where you can win cash prizes or additional game assets. If you have the skills, then you can use them and your time for the benefit of your crypto wallet.

4. Train and sell heroes

Another fun way to make money in Kaidro is to train and upgrade your heroes and then sell them to other players. This can be a good source of passive income, especially if you know how to grow a strong and in-demand character.
