GUNZILLA GAMES RECEIVES $46 MILLION INVESTMENT

Last update:

Gunzilla Games raised $46 million, led the round Republic Capitaland took part Griffin Gaming Partners, Animoca Brands, coinfund, Blizzard Fund, Jump Crypto, Spartan Investment Group and others. Funds will be used to integrate the marketplace into their cyberpunk game Off the Grid.

Gunzilla makes its GunZ marketplace contrary to the classic methods of monetization. In normal free games, users do not own any assets or items, meaning that the items earned or purchased do not belong to them. Off the Grid offers its players weapons, clothes and exclusive characters that can be obtained in the NFT. Gunzilla argues that these assets need not be available only for a fee. Users will be able not only to purchase items and use them in the game, but also to display them and exchange them with other users.

Off the grid is a dynamic third-person action game with Battle Royale elements. The game is set in a dystopian future. PvP battles will support up to 150 players. Gamers will be able to exchange in-game items and equipment with each other. There will also be PvE story missions. You will be able to directly influence the formation of the world and the development of the plot. The project is based on Unreal Engine 5.

Off the Grid is being developed with the support of District 9 director Neil Blomkamp, who is the chief visionary in Gunzilla. The game is expected to release around 2023. However, actual gameplay footage is nowhere to be found, only the trailer for the game leaves many players wondering if Off the Grid lives up to all the promises and hype.
