This means that all cards, in fact, are unique tokens of the ERC-721 standard, each card is unique and everyone knows for sure the number of cards issued in the same rating. They are stored on your ethereum wallet, which allows them to exchange, sell, give, as if this is a thing in your pocket. Also, such information will be useful to users in assessing the value of their cards. After all, you cannot buy specific cards in the game store, but only in the general market of users.

We now proceed to step-by-step consideration of the features of the game and try to understand the conceptual design of the development team together.

Developers are positioning Gods Unchained as a game format free-to-play... This is because you don't need to buy cards to immerse yourself in this world. Every week, the rotation of free decks that can be played with opponents is updated, this gives a free opportunity to feel and evaluate their strength and usefulness for your strategies. You also need to understand that battles take place off-chain, i.e. we avoid commissions for every action of the Ethereum network, which is an indisputable plus, because many projects have faced this unsolvable problem. The only thing you have to pay for is purchasing boosters in the store or specific cards in the general market so that your deck (deck) is strategically functional, regardless of the weekly rotation of free cards.

MODEL GAMES

At the moment, the developers have announced the following modes:

  •  Normal game. Standard battle mode where you play with your opponent with your cards and / or free rotation cards. Without rating, without rates and losses. Whether the mode of ranked sparring will be introduced is not clear, no information on this moment has been found.
  •  Battle Royale. Weekly Draft Tournament Mode, where the winner of each draft receives a pair of cards from the deck of the defeated opponent to his or her deck until the end of the tournament. The draft rules are very vague: when entering the tournament, you take 15 cards from your own or free rotation cards with you, then you go to the random cards.
  •  World Tournament. In the first quarter of 2019, the first world championship was announced with a prize fund of 1,6 $ million. The stated number of participants is limited to 20000 people. According to the developers, at this time, all tickets for participation are sold out. But they can be redeemed from players in the in-game market when it is open. Also, according to the rules of the tournament, each ethereum wallet may have one single ticket, and therefore the right 1 to take part in the event once again - if you flew out of the tournament, you will not be able to get paid.

CODE OF GENERAL RULES AND GAME CONCEPT

The player uses a deck made up of 30 cards. In order to competently make your deck you need to understand the types of cards, their abilities and the interaction between them.

The developers offered us a standard solution in the form of a card-drawing resource: mana (we will not go into details when considering the resources of games of this genre, there is a direct analogy with Hearthstone, and, in general, it is clear how this works).

For mana there is a draw of cards. How many mana is so much and you can play cards in your turn. The balance of your deck will directly depend on this resource.

The card types are also comparable to the aforementioned counterpart, and can be creatures, spells, weapons, or special God cards. Players also have access to divine power that can be used once per turn, with the exception of the ultimate ability, which can only be used once per game. The game continues until one of the opponents runs out of hit points for the hero (in this case, God). Also, cards can have unique abilities / conditions of play, for example: provocation, lifelink, twin-strike, and so on. It makes no sense to go into details in our review, since it will be more useful for interested players to glean this knowledge on the primary source website. In general, the conditions are not complicated and should be intuitive even for a beginner in this genre of games.

The gods were mentioned earlier - one of the key features of the game. The gods in this context symbolize the game factions. Each of the factions has its own color cards and their semantic orientation. For example, there is a god of war. Red cards correspond to him, that is, your deck will be stronger if you use cards of this color in your deck. The slope of this type of deck will be on strengthening creatures, increasing damage, etc. But you are not limited only by these conditions, it is not at all necessary to make a mono deck in order for your deck to be perfect. At least, at this stage it is difficult to say how much profit a combination of one or another card and faction will bring you, because there are no hard conditions for using cards, as, for example, in MTG.

This is the key difference between the popular representatives of this genre. There is used the mana and the choice of the hero, as in Hearthstone, but there is a color of decks as in MTG. What will come of this, we can learn only after the open beta test, which is announced on 4 quarter 2018 of the year.

BUYING A BOOSTER

At this time, the pre-release stage of the sale of boosters is being completed. Developers offer a flexible purchase system for any wallet.

There are 4 booster types:

     1. Rare. Contains 5 cards inside, one of which is guaranteed to be better or better. The cost of one pack of 0,012 ETH.
* Chances: Common card - 74%; Rare - 22%; Epic - 3,5%; Legendary - 0,5%. 

     2. Epic. Contains 5 cards inside, one of which is guaranteed to be epic or better. The cost of one pack is 0,075 ETH.
* Chances: Common card - 74%; Rare - 5%; Epic - 20,6%; Legendary - 0,5%.

     3. Legendary. Contains 5 cards inside, one of which is guaranteed to be legendary and one is better or better. The cost of one pack of 0,112 ETH.
* Chances: Common card - 55,5%; Rare - 20,8%; Epic - 3,3%; Legendary - 20,5%.

     4. Shiny Legendary. It contains 5 cards inside, one of which is guaranteed to be a legendary shine and one is better or better. The cost of one pack of 1 ETH.
* Chances: Common card - 55,5%; Rare - 20,8%; Epic - 3,3%; Legendary - 20,5%.

And here we smoothly move on to the question of what is shine cards in general? This concept came to this game from the same MTG. Shini is a card that is no different in strength from an ordinary card, it is simply beautifully designed - shiny and shimmers in the rays of your glory. For example, there is the legendary Gatekeeper card with 6/8 stats for 10 mana. So Shiney Gatekeeper will not differ in stats, it will not be stronger, but will simply differ visually. This card is more likely to be of value to collectors, fans of the genre, and it will cost significantly more than the usual one.

The developers have proposed an interesting moment of crafting cards from the ordinary in the Shine. The fact is that when opening multiple boosters, you will inevitably become the happy owner of a large number of identical cards. For you, they will be useless ballast in the collection. Therefore, there is the possibility of combining five identical cards in one shadow card, and five shadow cards in SHINI. Very good solution for this kind of problemki. Now the cards you do not gather dust in store, and form one valuable card, which, if desired, you will sell three times expensive.

As for the value of the cards, it is worth noting that their release is planned for generations. That is, at the end of the season, those cards that were issued during this time will be unavailable for purchase at the store in future seasons. It will be possible to purchase a card of the previous generation only from players who managed to get them earlier. At the moment, 380 cards, referred to as exclusive genesis, have been released in the game.

STAGE GAME LAUNCH

I would like to note that not only the concept of the game, but also its visual design, is incredibly pleasing. From the first minutes it “shouts” that a large studio of competent specialists is working on the game. From the side of investors, large players in the blockchain industry also stand out. The developers plan to run the game on a PC client on the Apollo platform.

The only thing I have questions about is balance. Balance is the most important aspect of this genre / game industry. It is the balance that motivates and gives rise to interest in playing such card games. As a rule, if you look at the history of successful projects in this segment, the balance is developed and tested by a large number of people, professional players, specialists over a long period of time. I would like to note that the process of developing such games is always accompanied by the involvement of famous personalities in the "card" circles, for who, if not people with extensive experience, are able to balance / protest and simply help developers. As a result, as I see the situation: no matter how beautiful such a game looks, if it does not have a playable balance, then most likely there will not be a large number of players in it, and if there are no players, then the card market will simply be half-dead. On the other hand, it is important to understand that comparing this project with the progenitors of the genre is also not entirely correct, because no one aims to displace everything that is now from the pedestal. At the start, play Gods Unchained there will still be mostly people who are more or less associated with the crypt. And no matter how good and balanced the game is, if money is spinning in it, then they will play and invest in it. For the most part, this is the reality of the crypto world at the moment.
