Collect-to-Earn by Polychain Monsters

Last update:

More and more startups are experimenting with the applicability of NFT in search of a killer feature. The other day Polychain Monsters presented Collector Staking and called it Collect-to-earn.

By the way, Polychain Monsters is Polkamon after the rebranding. Thus, they underlined their intentions to move to cross-chain. The game is available on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon and Elrond plans.

What's innovative?

Essentially, this NFT staking will allow players to stake their collection and receive rewards in the form of $ PMON tokens. The amount of the NFT staking reward will depend on the points that the player scored in this application. This is calculated based on the player completing the objectives. Thus, the more tasks the player completes, the better the score will be.

Rewards are tied to the collector's account. There are two types of challenges in the game. The first is the Collector's Challenges, in which you can collect Polymons with rare attributes, the second is the full set challenges, in which players must collect all Polymons with certain traits for this set.

Collector's Challenges: Rarity Points or Special Edition Challenges

In the Collector Challenges section, there are two additional challenges: the Rarity Points Challenge and the Special Edition Challenge.

In the rarity point challenge, the system rewards players for each non-Special Edition Polymon they own. Thus, the system calculates the number of points earned based on the rarity of each attribute of Polymon: color, horn, and glitter. The bottom line is that the rarer the attributes, the higher the scores will be. Understandably, the project rewards the earliest collectors. All Polymons of the first edition (as genesis, edition only) get 20% more boost points.

As for the second collector's challenge, in the special edition challenge, there, if the NFT holder has a Bitcoin Unidragon, his rarity score will receive additional boost points.

It turns out that the system calculates points according to several parameters: for each Polymon according to its rarity, participation in challenges and the rarity of Polymon at birth.

Harvesting

Player rewards are aggregated from a staking pool between chains, combining all current and upcoming chains. Therefore, both your Collector Score and your staking reward reflect your cross-chain collection, and when you apply for a reward, you need to do so on a per-chain basis. After that, you will receive the amount corresponding to your stake.
