Splinterland Riftwatchers
Riftwatchers pre-sale packs start on September 15 in Splinterlands. The packs contain legendary airdrops and a special promo card available only to those who buy the pack during the presale.
Riftwatchers includes 43 new cards, a new ability, epic summoners, and legendary creatures for each Splinter. There will be 3 million packs available, which can only be purchased with $SPS tokens (that's $5). For packs, you will need vouchers - one per pack. Vouchers are issued for holding Validator licenses and for staking $SPS tokens.
The first 500K packs will offer a special giveaway to anyone who buys one or more packs. Like the promo card Dr. Blight, this giveaway will be the only way to purchase a specific Dr. Blight (except for buying it from other players in the market). Each presale package purchased gives a 2% chance to receive a copy of the card, with one card guaranteed for every 50 packs. Those who buy 1000 packs during the pre-sale are guaranteed to receive the golden version of the card.
Players will not be able to open booster packs or use their new cards until the Riftwatchers packs are launched. The launch is scheduled for September 22.
Players receive six epic summoners from Riftwatchers packs, one for each element. In addition, there will be a new card ability called Rage. Creatures with Rage deal double damage to creatures with Taunt, potentially providing an effective way to break through defenses. The developers mention that the Riftwatchers update contains creatures with higher mana, which increases the ability of the deck in battles.
